The kitchen was part of an interior renovation to a modest Italianate home. The existing kitchen, dating from the 1960’s had dropped ceilings, an inefficient layout, limited storage, and no access to the living room, where the homeowners entertain. The new kitchen captures the original tall ceilings, bringing much needed visual space to a small room. The work area was consolidated to one side of the kitchen, creating room for a dining table. A cased opening was added to open the kitchen to the living area. The cabinetry is custom designed.
