Revitalized Victorian Charmer

This house, like so many of its era, had an inadequate kitchen and lacked a master suite. Unlike many that come to us, it was in reasonably good condition - it just needed a little pampering to return color to its cheeks. The homeowner emphasized time and again that natural light was to be the driver in the redesign of key rooms, and we did our best to honor this. A new kitchen with a cozy adjacent sitting area bring some much needed function to the revamped first floor. A new deck, screened porch and patio bring life to the previously awkward transition spaces between house and yard. On the second floor, a tired and unused sleeping porch was revived and incorporated into a small adjacent bedroom to make a fun bedroom for the homeowner’s daughter. At the third floor, what was previously a wacky assemblage of myopic retrofits was gutted to create a relaxing master suite getaway. This charming home was given new life to suit its new family.
